Oh stop it Robots! Pretty please? (){

So most of us who have a website, usually want the contents to be searchable over the world wide web – I mean that’s the whole point for putting up a website in the first place, right? While we are so eager about our contents getting more hits, there are rare cases however, when we actually do feel a bit shy about the popularity of our pages over search engines like Google. It is then and only then do we look for ways to tell the web robots to stay clear of our pages and not to index them. And since web robots have feelings too, we want to bring it to them as politely as possible – come the meta tags! By adding the following line to your tag, you can do just that, without killing or hurting anyone in the process.

 <meta name="ROBOTS" content="NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW">

Oh don’t you just love happy endings? =)

Let’s be clear: these are not my tabs. I found them online and I thought it’d be a shame to lose them. So without a second thought, I’m posting it on my website…

Do it with a smile (){

I’ve always liked seeing people smile. And I always loved making them. There are very few things in this world that can make me as happy as making people smile. I’ve often gone beyond the normal to do so. It’s addictive, it’s rewarding and it never has to stop. Whatever makes you smile, it makes me smile too.

Life has not been always a colorful butterfly for anyone. Everybody gets hurt. Everyone has had tears in their eyes. Everyone felt lonely at times. Everyone has felt out of context at times. Everyone has felt helpless at times. Everyone has felt the absence of love from the significant people whether it was really there and not. But in those moments, if you think about such times and smile, it always ease things albeit not set everything right – when you thought you had invented a whole new way to play a music instrument, when you had been told you have a pretty smile, when you saw the hero and the heroine finally get together in almost all hindi films, when you got to purchase that shirt with your preferred price over the tagged price, or when you hugged your parents the last time.

Life is good with a smile. Life is good with tears. Life is better with tears and smiles combined.

DTV Transition (){

DTV transition took place earlier in the mid of this year after a gruesome fight for change of deadlines. Being in the test team and thus, down at the SDLC chain, the change of deadlines had a significant impact on our work load. Nonetheless, both the web team who were responsible for designing and developing the site and the test team did a great job on the successful relaunch of DTV 2.0 and keeping up to its hype even till after the transition, which finally and gracefully* took place on June 12th of this year. Fortunately or unfortunately, I had joined the team at a time of heavy DTV workload nearing the crunch time.
I took the liberty to walk down to the DTV Command Center inside the FCC building and took these pictures there during the time of transition.

* No animals were killed in the process of this transition. The term excludes all server failures.
